TVETs plan to realign curriculum

Technical Vocational Education Training Institutions (TVETs) are in the process of redesigning their curriculum in line with the current and future needs of the job market.
Dr Eusebius Mukhwana, the Principal Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry says this has been necessitated by the continuous technological revolution across the world.
“This realignment will have a ripple effect on the economy. Up-to-date skills acquired at our TVETs will be marketable and provide solutions in our evolving world,” said Dr Mukhwana.
The PS challenged the TVETs to upscale their level of innovation and produce research-based products in line with the labour market trends.
“We are already in the third Industrial Development Decade for Africa (IDDA III) which has opened a new chapter for Industrial progression in the region,” he said.
Dr Mukhwana who spoke at Kenya Industrial Training Institute in Nakuru underscored the need to strengthen market linkages and establishment of aggregation.
