AfDB summit
The Annual African Development Bank (AfDB) summit ongoing at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), enters day four.
The summit began on May 27, 2024, and is expected to run until May 31, 2024.
The 2024 Annual Meetings will focus on ‘Africa’s Transformation, the African Development Bank Group, and the Reform of the Global Financial Architecture.’
A key issue on the agenda is the insufficient climate finance available for African needs and the high cost of capital required for investing in sustainable infrastructure to support green growth and a just energy transition.
The Annual Meetings are the Bank Group’s premier stakeholder gatherings, drawing up to 3,000 top government officials and private investors.
These meetings also provide a platform for the 81 governors and finance ministers of the African Development Bank to discuss and align on critical economic decisions.
