Connect Africa summit brief
Cabinet Secretary of Information, Communication, and Technology, Eliud Owalo, will host a breakfast briefing this Monday to discuss the upcoming Connected Africa Summit 2024, scheduled for April 21-22 at Uhuru Garden.
The summit, themed “Shaping The Future of a Connected Africa: Unlocking Growth Beyond Connectivity,” is organized by The Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy, along with The Kenya ICT Authority, and aims to converge Africa’s technology and innovation sectors.
Speakers for the event include President William Ruto, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, and African Union Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat.
KMPDU vs Government
The Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) is entering its fifth week of strikes.
The National Police Service (NPS) has accused the striking medics of disrupting public order with their demonstrations, while the medics have condemned the police’s characterization, asserting their constitutional rights to protest.
Power blackout
TKenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in parts of Kiambu County on Monday, April 15, for routine maintenance from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The affected areas include Kamba, Patmos, Gitwe Girls, Kambaa Shops, Kambaa Factory, Miumia A & B, Mungu Village, Matuguta Shops, Parts of Githiga, Mununga Village, and adjacent areas.
