1. Ruto-Koome meeting to generate debate

After Chief Justice Martha Koome finally met President William Ruto, her action is set to generate intense debate, especially after some quarters had opposed such a move.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga and the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) are some of those who had made public their opposition to the two arms of government holding talks.

LSK had, in fact, demanded an apology from President Ruto for his consistent attacks on the judiciary, but following the Monday meeting, eyes will be on the lawyers’ body to see their reaction.

Political leaders, lobby groups, and other stakeholders are expected to react to the meeting at the State House between the head of the executive and the head of the judiciary.

Although Raila Odinga has denied rumours that there are huge cracks within the opposition outfit, Azimio la Umoja, the public will be interested to see how things unfold in the coalition.

Recently, former Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong ditched the opposition and vowed to support the Kenya Kwanza administration.

As Raila tours the country, preaching unity within the coalition, eyes will be on the possible moves by politicians in the opposition.
