Here is what you need to know to get up to speed with today’s happenings.

Pastor Dorcas Rigathi’s tournament

The Spouse of the Deputy President Pastor Dorcas Rigathi is today expected to launch a football tournament targeting reforming addicts.

According to a press release sent to newsrooms, the event scheduled to start at 10 am will be held at Mutuini Grounds opposite Mutuini High School in Dagoreti South, Nairobi.

This comes as part of Pastor Dorcas’s commitment to combating the issue of drug and alcohol abuse among the youth in the country.

Ruto in Nyandarua

President William Ruto is today expected to visit Nyandarua county where he is expected to oversee key projects.

During his visit, the president will commission the Ol Kalou Water and Sewerage Project in Ol Kalou constituency from 11 am.

After the event, the Head of State will head to the Ol Kalou Affordable Housing units where he will lay founfation stone for the housing programme from at 1 pm.

Thereafter, the president willl launch the construction of Boiman-Passenga-Sirunga-Gachwe-Kwa Mumbi Road at Boiman, in Ol Jororok Constituency from 3 pm.

Power outage

Kenya Power on Wednesday announced planned power interruptions in two counties today.

The counties, Nandi and Kiambu will experience outages from 9 am to 5 pm.

In Nandi the power outage will affect areas such as Kapsumbeiywo Factory, St Monica, Chepkunyuk, and Kabutie from 10 am to 4 pm.

In Kiambu the outage will affect areas such as Kihara Hospital, Mary Leakey, Epic Centre, Uthiru, Rumenye, Ndenderu, Kianjogu, Rueno, Chinese Camp, La Paz, Mararo, Vetlab Golf, Wangunu Girls and Kessels Homes.

The areas will be affected from 9 am to 5 pm.
