Here is what you need to know to get up to speed with today’s happenings.
Public sector hearing for budget proposal
On Wednesday, December 13, the National Treasury will launch the Public Sector Hearings for Budget Proposals for the FY 2024/25 and Medium-Term Budget at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies (KSMS).
The launch will be presided over by National Treasury CS Njuguna Ndungu.
Ndindi Nyoro, MP, Chairman of the Budget and Appropriation Committee, National Assembly, and the PS of the National Treasury, Chris Kiptoo, will also be present.
Court Cases
There will be a ruling involving Sospeter Ojaamong and five others charged with abuse of office and economic crimes related to the irregular procurement of a solid waste management feasibility project at Milimani Court.
There will also be a mention of the case of Peter Mukhanji and Nifrey Musilivi Tero, charged with conspiracy to commit an offence of corruption. Another mention will involve the Neno Evangelism Centre Registered Trustee case, focusing on the recovery of public land allocated to the centre.
Kimalel Goat auction
More than 3,000 goats are expected to be sold during this year’s edition of the famous Kimalel goat auction in Baringo County. The three-day event is scheduled to kick off on Wednesday.
According to Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi, the event will incorporate cultural events which will be showcased on Wednesday and will include a traditional boat road race called “Kaldich” at Lake Baringo and sporting activities involving all the communities living in the county
African Football Championship final
The CAF African Football Championship qualifiers will conclude on Wednesday with the final matches for both girls and boys at Kasarani Stadium. The matches, played in a league format, began on Monday, and the final group stage matches will determine the teams proceeding to the final.
