Tiaty MP Kamket arrested over Laikipia clashes

Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket has been arrested.

The legislator was arrested over his alledged involvement in Laikipia clashes between ranchers and the pastoralist community.

The MP was arrested on Wednesday afternoon from his Kositei home in Tiaty and taken to the Rift Valley Region Criminal Investigations Office in Nakuru.

Baringo County Police Commander Robinson Ndiwa, who led the arrest, said that he was under instructions to arrest the legislator and present him at the Nakuru DCI office.

He is being taken to Nakuru for grilling by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations detectives.

Earlier today, former Laikipia North MP Mathew Lempurkel was arrested over the same issue.

Lempurkel was picked by the police from his home in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County.
