The country is saturated with nicotine products State banned in 2019 and 2021, investigation shows.

LYFT, now being sold as velo, was recalled from the market in 2020 after it emerged that it was not duly registered as per the anti-tobacco laws.

However, a documentary of investigation shows they have resurfaced in the market without meeting the conditions put forward by the Ministry of Health, which include full compliance with the Tobacco Control Act 2007 and the Tobacco Control Regulations 2014.

“We are gathered here to address a pressing concern that affects the health and well-being of our nation- the increasing use of oral nicotine pouches, also known as velo,” representatives of some civil society groups said.
