Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed’s husband is dead.

Confirming the incident, the family said Khalid Ahmed died on Thursday morning at Karen Hospital after a short illness.

Despite having successful career woman, Khalid kept off public life and dedicated his time to family and businesses.

He leaves behind two children.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has sent a message of condolence to Amina’s family.

Raila said: “Dear C.S Amina Mohamed kindly accept deepest condolences from Mama Ida and I following the passing of your Dear husband Khalid Ahmed. May God the Almighty grant you and your family fortitude to bear the loss. Poleni sana. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”

On his par, Interior CS Fred Matiang’i said: “Balozi Amina Mohamed, Poleni Sana. It is my prayer that God will comfort you and your family during this difficult time. My sincere condolences to you and your loved ones.”
