Singer David Kamoko eyes international stage

Sensational mugithi artiste David Kamoko has hailed his fans in Europe for showing him unparalleled love during his mega show last weekend.

The Sponsor hit singer was in Germany for a sold-out concert at the Surprise Club in Berlin, and he intimates to Spice that the experience was like no other.

“As a fledging artiste, it was always my dream to perform abroad. My first time in Germany was in 2017 at the Berlin Pop Cultural Festival, and returning to Berlin for the third time meant the world to me.

The experience has been awesome and I cannot really thank my fans enough for showing me so much love,” he said.

The young Kikuyu singer, who has made it his mission to bring back the traditional mwomboko music to the scenes, adds that he intends to elevate the genre to international levels.

“I fell in love with those old sweet melodies and rich composition that nobody seemed to care about.

So, I thought people must be mistaken if they are not relating to this beautiful genre of music.

I then decided to revive it in a way the young generation would relate to even though I was not sure they would like it.

But to my shock, they fell in love. I can confidently say mwomboko is now international,” he says.
