Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has said ODM legislators who are allied to President William Ruto will lose their seats if they defect to other parties and seek re-election.

Sifuna, who was speaking yesterday in Nairobi said the MPs stand no chance of retaining their seats.

“I want to advise my friend Jalang’o that those telling him to quit ODM are misleading him since he cannot secure a re-election in Lang’ata on any other ticket apart from ODM,”

Sifuna warned in reference to one of the so-called rebel MPs, Phelix Odiwuor.

Sifuna, who is the ODM secretary general, said Jalang’o only won because he vied on the ODM ticket.

“It was the ODM ticket that made people see him as a politician, not a journalist. So he cannot just say he will vie with whichever party,” he said.

The Senator dared Jalang’o to quit the party and seek re-election on the ticket of another party.
Last week, ODM expelled some legislators from Nyanza, who they accused of rebelling against the party.
