Shortage of face masks hits Bomet health facilities
Health facilities in Bomet County are facing an acute shortage of face masks, a situation that has greatly affected service delivery.
The worst hit has been the Longisa County Referral Hospital which has also been set as an isolation center for coronavirus patients in the county.
The county has admitted to having a shortage of the protective.
Health executive member Joseph Sitonik said the situation is the same countrywide and Bomet is not an exception.
“We have allocated the few masks to health workers attending to critical cases,” he said.
Sitonik told the press that they have since asked some of the medics working in the facility to be cautious and bear with the situation.
Sitonik said they have procured some masks, but they were yet to be received.
