Shabana FC and Migori Youth FC are keeping their premiership promotion dreams alive following morale boosting but difficult wins Wednesday during the National Super League Championship.

Tore Bobe beat retail outlet Naivas FC by a solitary goal courtesy of danger-man Peter Ogechi in the 25th minute of the first half. The slim win pushes Shabana to 54 points off 24 matches played. This was also their fifth consecutive win and has put Sammy Okoth’s men in prime position to get the jump to the top tier after two decades out.

Naivas who put up a good fight just fell short at Gusii Stadium against a partisan crowd. The waves of attacks from the home team made the visitors wary and more alert for most of the part. Naivas are currently stuck in sixth place with 32 points albeit with 21 matches played.

Meanwhile, third placed Migori Youth FC posted a third consecutive win after coming from the back to beat Mara Sugar FC 2-1 at their Awendo Stadium home turf. With the win,the border team is now on 41 points off 21 games played. Kevin Oluoch’s men are daring to dream with 11 matches to go. The game was one of both halves with certain times having the hosts playing catch up and chase the game following Mara’s tactical plan.

However the patience of the Migori Youth helped a lot as they kept knocking on the door. After the loss, Mara have now dropped to fifth place on 37 points with 22 matches played.

In another game,Mully Children’s Family FC were on-song at their home-ground of Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos as they hushed visiting Mombasa Elite FC 2-0. MCF are now in 10th place with 29 points following the feat. This was their seventh win of the campaign out of 22 matches played. Elite is one place up to 30 points off 23 matches. Like other teams beneath and above, the Coastal based side have had inconsistencies with two wins registered in five matches.

Elsewhere struggling Kisumu All-Stars FC got easy three points in the bag yesterday after a 2-0 award from Silibwet Leons FC. The financially handicapped Lakeside team popularly known by their fans as Otenga, will be looking up to the skies and thanking the gods of football for that gift. The three glorious points means that All-Stars are 11th in the log off 23 matches with 29 points.
