Senators praise security officers conduct during demos

Kenya Kwanza leaders have lauded the police for keeping the country safe and protecting the lives and property of Kenyans.

This even as Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago said he will initiate a process of recalling East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) members Winnie Odinga and Kennedy Kalonzo to come back and lead the protests.

Yesterday, the Kenya Kwanza leaders led by Samson Cherargei (Nandi), the leaders condemned the street protests, saying there will be no power-sharing deal with the opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Cherargei said some criminals could have infiltrated the protests that have led to deaths in the hands of the police.

“We want to laud the way the police have conducted themselves during these two days of protests. The police should arrest any person who destroys the properties of another Kenyan and charge them in court,” said Cherargei.

Interestingly, the Kenya Kwanza leaders have also asked the International Criminal Court (ICC) to take a keen interest in Kenya, particularly opposition leader Raila Odinga and retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, claiming that they could be funding the protests.

Without tabling any evidence, Cherargei claimed the duo funding the protests have so far claimed many lives and left scores injured with gunshot wounds across the country.

Senators Alex Mudigi (Embu), Danson Mungatana (Tana River), Hillary Sigei (Bomet), Karungo Wa Thang’wa (Kiambu), Lelegwe Lumbetsi (Samburu), William Kisang (Elgeyo Marakwet), Joseph Kinywa (Laikipia), Wafula Wakoli (Bungoma), Veronica Maina (nominated) and Esther Okenyuri (nominated) appealed to the opposition leaders to look for other avenues of solving the grievances.
