Senators Mohamed Faki and Karen Nyamu elected to lead lands committee
Mombasa Senator Mohamed Faki and nominated Senator Karen Nyamu have been unanimously elected as the chairperson and vice chairperson of the Standing Committee on Land, Environment, and Natural Resources respectively.
The two were elected during a Senate session on Monday, February 24, 2025.
The Senate Committee Land, Environment and Natural Resources was previously chaired by Nyandarua Senator John Methu and deputised by Samburu Senator Lelegwe Ltumbesi.
The Standing Committee on Land and Natural Resources considers all matters relating to lands and settlement, environment, forestry, water resource management and mining.
ICT Committee
On the other hand, Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang and Nominated Senator Miraj Abdulrahman were unanimously re-elected as the chairperson and vice chairperson of the Standing Committee on Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) respectively.
