Sen Nyutu: MCAs hosted by Ruto at State House are Gachagua supporters
Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu has warned President William Ruto not to be misled by a large delegation of grassroots leaders from Murang’a at State House on Friday, September 12, 2025, stressing that they are supporters of the former Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in Kenol, Murang’a County, the outspoken senator asserted that attempts to bribe the Mt Kenya politicians would yield little results in swaying the people.
“The money you are dishing out will not bring back the youths you killed. We want to tell you that all those you had in the State House are Gachagua’s supporters. They were even saying “Wantam,” he stated.

His sentiments were also echoed by the Kiambu senator, Karungo Wa Thangw’ah, who challenged the region to stand up against attempts to grab their land.
“Asante Riggy G for stopping by Ruiru. To the people of Ruiru and Kiambu: let’s RISE and RESIST the ongoing massive land grab by the Kasongos. Our land, our future – hatutakubali!,” he stated.
His sentiments come a day after he led a delegation of a rival MCAs faction to meet with the former DP at his Wamunyoro residence on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Speaking at the function, he dismissed Ruto for meeting with MCAs from the county. He specifically blasted Ruto for his attempts to woo the people, saying they have already made up their minds on who their leader is.
“Ruto knows the needs of Murang’a people. He doesn’t have to call them to the state house for him to know their needs. He only called them to bribe them in his desperate move to move them away from Gachagua, whom they have embraced as our national leader,” he stated.
“The move of calling people to the State House will not change things. Murang’a has a population of about 1 million people, and only about four thousand have been called to State House,” he added.
MCA Maurice Thuku, the majority Whip of the assembly, Kariara ward MCA Gichihi Mbatia, Steven Kimani, Grace Nduta City, and Liz Mbugua of Kinyona ward and the deputy leader of the majority, were among the delegation of MCAs at Wamunyoro.
