Businessman Peter Karanja, who is accused of killing City Tycoon Tob Cohen, has been released on Sh 4 million bond or Sh2 million cash bail.

While granting Karanja bail, Justice Daniel Ogembo ruled that there was no compelling reason tabled in court by the prosecution to warrant his continued detention.

However, the judge granted the businessman bail on conditions that he has to deposit his passport with the court and not to contact any prosecution witnesses in the murder case either directly or in directly.

The court also barred Karanja from going anywhere near Cohen’s home in Kitisuru which has been declared to be a crime scene.
