Sakaja maintains lead in Nairobi with 53 per cent – Tifa

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Johnson Sakaja has maintained the lead as the most preferred candidate with 53 percent in a new poll released by Trends and Insights for Africa (TIFA).

In the poll released on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, Sakaja’s arch-rival Polycarp Igathe of the Jubilee party managed a  36 percent approval rating.

Other candidates had 1 percent popularity while the undecided stood at 10 percent.

Sakaja’s approval rating rose from 40 percent in June to 53 percent in August, whereas Igathe recorded a 4 percent increase between the same period.

The survey conducted through telephonic interviews further indicates that the number of undecided voters reduced from 28 percent to 10 percent, other candidates recorded a decrease from 9 percent to 1 percent.

The poll was done among 520 respondents across 17 constituencies on Monday, August 1, 2022
