Saboti MP Caleb Amisi takes swipe at his opponent for spending more money on electorate ahead of August polls

Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has, jokingly, called on his constituents to go for handouts and other goodies believed to be proceeds of COVID-19 scandal loot allegedly being dished out by an aspirant who is eyeing to unseat him.
Amisi is evidently alleging that the unnamed opponent is spending more money on the electorate ahead of the 2022 polls.
Addressing residents of Matisi area during the issuance of bursary cheques, Amisi condemned people mentioned in the heist saying stealing from the sick amounts to violation of Article 43 of the Constitution of Kenya.
“Even if you have an insatiable greed for money, how on earth do you steal from the sick so that you can use the money to divide the people of Saboti along tribal lines?” Amisi questioned.
The first-term legislator said stealing money for the sick, especially those fighting for their lives in hospitals is attracting curses and asked those mentioned in the multi-billion scandal to repent and to surrender the loot back to the government.
Amisi called on the Saboti youths to be on the lookout for the unnamed aspirant so that they can receive his money that is meant to influence them to vote for him in the August 9 elections.
“I’m telling you the truth, never give a second thought when it comes to taking his money. Take the money without blinking but when you get to the ballot, cast your vote wisely.” Amisi urged.
In a joking manner, the ODM lawmaker said he would also go for the money from his opponent to finance his campaign and to support needy youths and women in Saboti.
“When you see him around, let me know so that I can also join you. I will look for gumboots, a cap and a trenchcoat, then I will line up to receive my share” he joked.
