Ruto appoints ex-CS Adan Mohamed as member of his Council of Economic Advisors

President William Ruto has appointed former East African Community (EAC) Cabinet Secretary Adan Mohamed as a member of his Council of Economic Advisors.
In a notice by the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, Mohamed was appointed alongside Bernice Sialaal Lemedeket who will join the National Police Service as Principal Administrative Secretary.
“In the implementation of his transformative economic plan for Kenya, His Excellency the President continues to constitute the advisory function within the Executive Office of the President and other key state organs/offices.
“It is therefore notified that the Head of State and Government has made additional appointments within the ranks of the Executive Office of the President and other organs of state,” the notice signed by Koskei read in part.
Mohamed joins politics
Mohamed resigned in February this year to vie for Mandera gubernatorial seat on Jubilee Party ticket.
Mohamed was one of only five Cabinet Secretaries who had served in former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Cabinet since he assumed office in 2013.
The other four were former CSs Fred Matiang’i, James Macharia, Raychelle Omamo, and Amina Mohammed.
Lemedeket on the other hand has been serving as Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Foundation Manager.
She has over 15 years of experience in the development field with vast experience in community networking, partnership development, project conceptualization, and resource mobilization in development.
