Raila to end Mount Kenya tour with stop overs in Kenol, Githurai

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has concluded his tour of Laikipia County.

Raila, who camped in the county for three days, met the Mt Kenya region’s leadership, youth, church leaders and addressed the people on the streets of Nanyuki town.

“We also met people involved in SMEs and we saw exhibition of made in Kenya products,” Raila said during a press conference on Monday.

He said he was leaving the region with fond memories.

“We will leave here by road through Sagana, Kenol, Thika, Juja and finally Githurai where we will address Kenyans,” he said.

H said he had talks with Party of National Unity (PNU) leadership and the discussion with Jubilee to form a coalition with ODM was at advanced level.

Raila also weighed in on the current insecurity challenges in Laikipia County, calling on the government to act swiftly.

“It is the responsibility of the government to protect its citizens,” he said.

Raila was flanked by governors Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru), Francis Kimemia (Nyandarua), James Nyoro (Kiambu) and Ndiritu Muriithi (Laikipia).
