Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga has dismissed allegations of selling three Kenyan ports to a Dubai firm.

While responding to the allegations by the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, Raila, through his campaign spokesperson Makau Mutua said he was not in government to sanction any selling of public property.

“I have consulted with Raila about the matter. He has undoubtedly dismissed this allegation with the contempt they deserve,” Mutua said.

‘Kenya Kwanza sensing defeat’

Mutua further said the Kenya Kwanza team tried diverting attention after sensing defeat in the August 9 polls.

“This latest attempt, like many others, is uncalled for and unbecoming of a side picking anything and everything to shore up their dwindling numbers.

“Still, they must cease defamatory allegations that continue to feature during the public engagement,” he stated.

While leading the presser in Mombasa on Wednesday, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi said President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila illegally sold the ports of Mombasa, Lamu, and Kisumu, to a Dubai-based Port World FZE.

“Why would a government with less than five weeks leave office hurriedly and secretly auction our ports’ operations, development, redevelopment, and management to a foreign country?” Mudavadi asked.
