Quack doctor Mugo wa Wairimu to serve 3-year jail term

Quack doctor James Mugo Ndichu, alias Mugo wa Wairimu was Wednesday sentenced to three years in prison, or pay a Sh 1.4 million for practicing medicine without licences.
Mugo was found guilty of unlawfully operating a pharmacy, a medical laboratory, and a clinic without the respective licenses from the regulatory bodies.
Mugo wa Wairimu was arrested for the first time in 2015 after a video emerged on social media of a man believed to be him raping a woman he had sedated inside his clinic.
He was arrested and later released after witnesses dropped out of the rape charges.
Mugo was arrested again in 2018 for operating an unlicenced clinic in Kayole, Nairobi.
He was arraigned for operating a clinic, a pharmacy, and a laboratory without the respective licences.
