Kenyans have been invited to take part in a public participation exercise on the proposed Draft Policy on modernisation and transformation of the Government Press into an efficient and highly performing commercially viable entity.

A Presidential Taskforce formed in June this year is calling on members of the public to submit either hard or soft copies of their memoranda in a template that can be downloaded, filled and submitted via an email address provided or hand delivered.

The team which is chaired by industrialist Dr Narendra Raval (pictured) will receive written submissions on the prescribed template which runs from the October 13, 2023 to November 10, 2023.

“Taskforce will be holding county-based citizen engagement meetings at the venues and time indicated. Participation by all stakeholders is encouraged including members of the public, national and County Government representatives, private sector, civil society organisations, Non-Governmental organisations, professional bodies, persons with disabilities, faith-based organisations, women and the youth,” reads a public notice.

The Taskforce is mandated to carry out a situational analysis on the status and level of performance of the Government Press in its service to the organs of both the National and County Governments.

Further it shall undertake a comprehensive study and review of highly performing government presses in other relevant jurisdictions to establish the best models, technologies, methods and practices that can be incorporated in the modernisation and transformation of Kenya’s Government Press.
