Prime CS Mudavadi urges Ethiopia to support Raila’s AUC bid

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has continued with Kenya’s campaigns in support of Raila Odinga’s bid for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairman’s post.

During a meeting with Ethiopia’s Foreign Affairs minister, Gedion Timothewos Hessebon, on Friday, December 20, 2024, Mudavadi urged the country to support Raila’s bid.

“I had a highly engaging meeting with H.E. Gedion Timothewos Hessebon, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, during his courtesy visit.

“I used the opportunity to convey Kenya’s appeal for Ethiopia’s support for the Rt. Hon. @RailaOdinga. As we continue to champion our shared vision for Africa’s transformation, we remain committed to working hand in hand with all partners to realize the aspirations of Agenda 2063, ‘The Africa We Want’,'” Mudavadi said in a post on X.

The meeting also discussed other agendas around peace, integration, and collaboration.

“Our discussions touched on key areas of shared interest at both bilateral and multilateral levels, emphasizing peace, security, and regional integration.

“We are committed to fast-tracking our collaborative efforts to strengthen and expand the deep-rooted ties between our nations. Kenya and Ethiopia remain steadfast in advancing their partnership, leveraging existing Memoranda of Understanding to drive trade, foster investment, and promote a unified approach to regional progress and prosperity,” he added.

Raila has been traversing Africa in search of support and has also outlined his vision for the continent should he be elected on February 25, 2025.
