President Suluhu breaks fast with female Muslim faithful at State House

Tanzania President Samia Suluhu was joined by a section of Kenyan Muslim women for Iftar: the meal shared by Muslims after sunset during Ramadan, on the first evening of her two day state visit to Kenya.

Suluhu and the Muslim faithful shared the evening meal at State House, Nairobi on May 4 before joining President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta for a State Banquet hosted in her honor.

On day one of her two day state visit to Kenya, Suluhu lay a wreath of flowers at the mausoleum of Kenya’s founding founding President Jomo Kenyatta.

After talks between Uhuru and Suluhu, the two countries agreed to eliminate barriers hindering the smooth flow of trade and people between them.

After bilateral talks, Kenya and TZ also agreed to have a joint team of experts address the disjointed enforcement of cross-border COVID-19 containment protocols, one of the most pronounced non-tariff trade barrier between the two nations.

The Tanzanian President will address both houses of the Kenyan Parliament on Wednesday, May 4 in Nairobi.
