‘We are optimistic his competence will make our economy robust’ – Ruto hails Mbadi

President William Ruto has commended Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Economic Planning John Mbadi, describing him as a gifted and diligent leader.

The head of state made these remarks during a thanksgiving service in Magunga, Suba South, Homa Bay County.

Ruto on Mbadi’s drive

Following the event, Ruto took to social media to highlight Mbadi’s dedication and drive, expressing confidence in his ability to refine public financial management and ensure efficient government service delivery across the country.

“Waziri John Mbadi is a gifted and diligent gentleman. He has the drive and focus that will refine our public financial management, ensuring efficient Government service delivery to all. We are optimistic that his competence and requisite management skills will make our economy robust and development sustainable,” Ruto stated.

The event was attended by several senior national government officials and Homa Bay County leaders, including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Cabinet Secretaries Soipan Tuya (Defence), Rebecca Miano (Tourism and Wildlife), Eric Murithi (Water), Alice Wahome (Lands), and Hassan Joho (Mining and Blue Economy).

Mbadi, who replaced Prof Njuguna Ndung’u in the Treasury docket, is a seasoned politician and professional.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Business Administration obtained in 2007.

He is also a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.

Mbadi before CS

Before he was appointed Cabinet Secretary, Mbadi served as the Member of Parliament for Suba Constituency since 2013.

He has also held the position of Minority Leader in the National Assembly and was a member of the Public Accounts Committee.
