Poor lighting dims two Impala Floodlit playoffs

The much-awaited Impala Floodlit matches were cut short after event officials and tournament organisers concurred that the was poor lighting ahead of the two remaining fixtures of the day.

Impala Saracens who are the hosts of the tournament said they could not guarantee the player’s safety hence the postponement of the fixtures.

The KCB vs Kenya Harlequin and Impala vs Nondies matches have been pushed to Wednesday at 5pm and 6:30pm respectively due to a power issue at Impala Club.

“Due to a power outage which couldn’t guarantee our players’ safety, we have had to postpone the second half of Nondies vs Impala Saracens and the KCB v Harlequins match, to Wednesday from 5pm at the Impala Club,” the statement by Impala read.

Earlier on in an early kick-off, Menengai Oilers sailed through to the semifinal of the tournament with a 26-13 win over rivals Nakuru RFC in the tightly contested fixture.

In the all-varsity fixture, Kenyatta University Blak Blad edged Strathmore Leos 22-19 to book a date with the Oilers in the Semifinals in the next stage of the tournament.
