Police night sting: Man caught with bhang metres from Laikipia High School
By Kiprono Keileb, December 4, 2025The National Police Service (NPS) has announced the arrest of a male suspect found with 15 rolls of bhang during a night patrol near Laikipia High School in Nyahururu, Laikipia County.
The arrest was made by officers from Nyahururu Police Station, who were conducting routine patrols in the Bagation area as part of ongoing efforts to curb the sale and movement of illegal drugs across the region.
In a statement posted on X on Thursday, December 4, 2025, NPS said the operation had yielded positive results in the continuing fight against narcotics.
“A patrol operation by officers from Nyahururu Police Station has produced a positive result in the ongoing effort against drug possession and distribution in Laikipia County,” the statement reads.

The officers reportedly intercepted the suspect during normal patrol rounds before discovering the rolls of suspected cannabis in his possession.
“During a routine patrol in the Bagation area near Laikipia High School, police officers intercepted and arrested a male suspect found in possession of 15 rolls of suspected cannabis,” NPS added.
Following the arrest, the suspect was escorted to Nyahururu Police Station, where officers booked him and secured the seized drugs as exhibits.
“The suspect was taken to Nyahururu Police Station, where the recovered substance was secured as an exhibit pending further legal action,” the statement continues.

NPS used the incident to restate its commitment to cracking down on drug trafficking networks and small-scale peddlers who target communities, especially young people in school zones.
“The National Police Service reiterates its commitment to combating drug abuse and trafficking, which continue to threaten public health, safety, and social well-being,” the service said.
The statement also highlighted the importance of continuous operations to keep schools and residential areas safe.
“Such operations remain integral to safeguarding communities, particularly the youth, from the dangers associated with illicit drugs,” NPS added.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned once investigations are completed.
