Police arrest suspects linked to Laikipa rancher’s death

The death of a Laikipia ranch owner Lucy Jennings last weekend from gun wounds inflicted on her by bandits is a pointer that the gun-wielding criminals are bolder and targeting owners of large farms in the County.
Lucy died at Pope Benedict XIV Hospital in Nyahururu town, where she was in an intensive care unit for five days after her vehicle was sprayed with bullets by criminals while on her way to a church service in Rumuruti on January 21.
Police have arrested six suspects as the search for others continues as the law enforcers try to unravel the reason behind the attack. She had won a court case to have illegal settlers on the farm to be driven out.
Laikipia West Sub-County Police Commander Benjamin Muhia confirmed the arrest saying, “we are still trailing other suspects linked to the brutal attack.”
