Parts of 10 counties to experience power interruption on Tuesday, October 7

Kenya Power Company has listed regions of Nairobi County among the 10 counties that will experience power interruptions on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

In a statement on Monday, October 6, 2025, the utility company noted that the power interruptions will start from 9:00 am to 5: 00 pm.

In Nairobi, Pioneer Phase 1 & 2, Kariobangi South, Buruburu Phase 5, KCC Village, and Part of Kangundo Road& adjacent customers are among the regions expected to be affected.

The interruptions will also touch parts of Kilimani and Jamhuri Estate, Cotton Road., Part of Dennis Prit Road, Kayawe Road, Galana Road, Parts of Argwings Khodek Road, Ring Road, Kilimani, Part of Lenana Road, Chania Avenue, Wood Avenue, Part of Kirichwa Road, Adlife Plaza, Eastlands Hotel, French School, Yaya Centre, Prestige Plaza, Mugo Kibiru, Moi Girls Kibera, Toi Market.

Other regions are Woodley Estate, Jamuhuri Est, Togo Flats, part of Suna Road, Part of Ngong Road, Toi Primary, Ola Petrol Station, Naivas, Joseph Kangethe Road, Part of Suna Road, Part of Kindaruma Road & adjacent customers.

In the North Rift, Simat area in Uasin Gishu county, Mutwot Kisor Dispensary, Tuivo Kamotong and adjacent customers are expected to be disrupted by the blackouts.

Other regions that will be affected include: Musiri, Part of Gamogi Mkt, Itiengere, Jebrock Mkt, Kini Mkt, Kapkerer Mkt, Kaseta, Malinda, Likindu H/Center, Saride, Ivola, Kapsaoi, Police, Mutiva & adjacent customers.

Parts of Kakamega County to be affected include: Burkas, Lunza, Mungune, Lukumbo, Metamwele, Shibanga & adjacent customers.

In Nyeri, Thuti Factory, Birithia Sec, Kagonye Market, Kagere Market, Kenyatta Secondary School, Mahiga Girls, Munyange Market, Munyange Secondary School, Njigari Market, Dr. Kamundia Secondary, Ihithe Market, Kindara, Hubuini Market, and adjacent customers.

Mt Kenya regions

The Karunda-Githuno areas to be affected include: Karunda Shopping Centre, Githungo Primary School, Mbiriri Market, Mapema S/Center and adjacent customers. Kanyagia and Endarasha areas will also be affected.

Other counties listed in the planned interruptions are Muranga, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, and Kirinyaga Counties.

Tharaka Nithi: Kibugua Market, Magumoni, Njuri High, Kericho, Gitogoto, Kiamuriuki, Kiracha Market & adjacent customers.

Laikipia: Jua Kali Center, Naibor Center, Mayan Hotel, Rititi, Edana, Oxy Energy, Jesel Farm & adjacent customers.

Nyeri: Esacco, Sangare, Honi, Rhino Watch, Kanyagia, Uasonyiro, Mairo, Endarasha Mkt, Pura, Edarasha Sec Sch, Watuka Mkt, Wandare Mkt, Kabati, Mwiyogo, Kanyagia, Embaringo Mkt, Watuka Village, Kimunyuru Mkt & adjacent customers.

Murang’a County: Thaara Sec, Kamahuha Mkt, Igikiro Village, ACK Kamuhuha Parish & adjacent customers.

Embu County: Kiambere Kengen Camps, Water Meyer, Kiambere Complex, Katothya, Kavui, Ngiiri, Gwakar-igu, Mutuobare Mkt, Cieria & adjacent customers.
