ODM holds consultative meeting with Kilifi aspirants ahead of Special Delegates Conference

The Orange Democratic Movement has hosted a consultative meeting bringing together party aspirants in Kilifi County in preparation for its upcoming Special Delegates Conference (SDC) set for March 27.

According to a party’s post on its X account on Monday, March 16, 2026, the Kilifi ODM chairman, Gideon Mung’aro, called the meeting to help strengthen the party’s structure and increase grassroots involvement in the county.

According to the party, the forum gave aspirants and local leaders a chance to discuss strategies for strengthening ODM’s presence in the coastal region.

They also aimed to build a stronger organizational framework at the grassroots level.

“As part of preparations for the upcoming SDC scheduled for the 27th of this month and the growth of our party, the Kilifi County Chairman @GideonMungaroM held a consultative meeting with ODM aspirants in Kilifi for strengthening our party structures and deepening grassroots engagement across the county,” ODM wrote.

Aim of the forum

The party said that the meeting was focused on enhancing unity within the party.

ODM said the meeting allowed leaders to reflect on the party’s direction while reaffirming their collective commitment to advancing the aspirations of residents in Kilifi and the wider Coast region.

“Together, we are reflecting on the path forward, reaffirming our unity, and renewing our shared commitment to advancing the aspirations of our people #TukoTayari,” the post read.

ODM special delegates’ meeting

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, in a statement dated Thursday, March 5, 2026, announced a special delegates meeting expected to take place in Nairobi County.

The party confirmed that the special delegates’ convention shall be held on Friday, 27th March 2026.

“PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to Articles 47 and 49, as read together with Articles 51(3)(d) and 21(1) (i) of the Orange Democratic Movement Party Constitution, a Special Delegates Convention shall be held on Friday, 27th March 2026, in Nairobi County, commencing at 9:00 a.m.,” the ODM said.

The party outlined that all members of the National Executive Committee, members of the party’s Parliamentary Group, members of the party’s Council of Governors & the deputy governors.

Likewise, all chairpersons of the Branch Executive Committees (mainstream), chairpersons of County Coordinating Committees, and majority/minority leaders of County Assemblies.

In addition, ODM has confirmed that all national officials of the ODM Youth League will be present, including national officials of the ODM Women League and national officials of the ODM Disability League.
