Here is what you need to know in order to get up to speed with today’s news.

Angolan President’s official visit

Angolan President João Lourenço will conclude his two-day official visit today, Sunday, October 22, 2023.

Lourenço, accompanied by the First Lady Ana Dias Lourenço, arrived in the country on Thursday in preparation for the Mashujaa Day celebrations.

Lourenço however missed the Mashujaa Day event at Kericho Green Stadium on Friday.

On Saturday, Kenya and Angola signed bilateral agreements on 11 legal instruments to boost Government-to-government and people-to-people relations between the two countries.

The legal instruments are on wildlife management, maritime, agriculture, Telecommunication and ICT, oil and gas, mining and geology, health collaboration and capacity building in public service in respective diplomatic academies.

This marks the first official visit by an Angolan President since 1975.

National Super League

Vihiga Bullets will host Coastal Heroes at Mumias Sports Complex, and the match will begin at 1:00 pm. Another early kick-off will see Silibwet and Dimba Patriots clash at Silibwet Green Stadium, in a 1:00 pm kickoff.

Kibera Black Stars will face Rainbow at Vapor Grounds at 3:00 pm as MCF and Kisumu Allstars battle at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, with the match scheduled for 3:00 pm in the afternoon.

SS Assad will take on Mulembe United FC at Ukunda Showground in Ukunda, with the match starting at 3:00 pm.

Kenya Premier League

Kariobangi Sharks will host Muhoroni Youth in an early kick-off at 1:00 pm while Nzoia Sugar will battle it out with Kakamega Homeboyz at 3:00 pm.

Bandari will play against AFC Leopards at 3:00 pm while Bidco United will host Murang’a SEAL at 3:00 pm.

Shabana will play Nairobi City Stars at 3:00 pm with Tusker closing the day against Gor Mahia in the final game of the weekend at 4:00 pm.

EPL

In the English Premier League (EPL), two matches will be played with Aston Villa hosting West Ham at 6:30 pm while Tottenham Hotspurs play against Fulham at 10:00 pm.
