Here is what you need to know in order to get up to speed with today’s happenings.
Angolan President’s official duties
Angolan President João Lourenço is embarking on a two-day official state visit starting on this Saturday, October 21.
Lourenço, accompanied by the First Lady Ana Dias Lourenço, arrived in the country on Thursday in preparation for the Mashujaa Day celebrations.
Although he missed the Mashujaa Day event at Kericho Green Stadium on Friday, he is expected to visit the Statehouse on Saturday. This marks the first official visit by an Angolan President since 1975.
FKF Premier League returns
The FKF Premier League is set to resume after a one-week break, allowing Harambee Stars to participate in an international friendly.
This Saturday, October 21, the winless Sofapaka will face Kenya Police FC at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos at 3:00 p.m.
At the same time, FC Talanta will take on FKF Premier League leaders Posta Rangers at Ruaraka Grounds. A highly anticipated match will be played at 4:00 p.m. at Kasarani Stadium, where KCB FC will lock horns with Ulinzi Stars FC, and this match will be televised.
English Premier League
In the English Premier League, a number of matches are scheduled for this Saturday after the international break. Liverpool and Everton will meet in the weekend opener at 2:30 p.m.
Other fixtures include Bournemouth vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers, Brentford vs. Burnley, Manchester City vs. Brighton and Hove Albion, Newcastle United vs. Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest vs. Luton Town, all set for 5:00 p.m.
The day concludes with a high-profile match at 7:30 p.m. as Chelsea host Arsenal, and Sheffield United welcome Manchester United.
