Here is what you need to know in order to get up to speed with today’s happenings.

1. Commissioning of 38 Junior Secondary labs

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is scheduled to preside over the inauguration of 38 Junior Secondary School Laboratories in conjunction with the launch of the Narok West Constituency Strategic Plan.

This important event will take place in Sekenani, Narok West, Narok County.

2. Moses Kuria hands over MITI

In an administrative change, Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria is today expected to transfer the reins of the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry (MITI) to Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano.

This transition follows a recent reshuffling by President William Ruto, which saw Kuria reassigned to the Ministry of Public Service, Performance & Delivery Management, formerly known as the Ministry of Public Service, Gender, and Affirmative Action.

3. KHHRAC and Governors Pre-National Dialogue

The Kenya Healthcare Human Resources Advisory Council (KHHRAC), in partnership with The Ministry of Health and the Council of Governors, is set to host a Pre-National Dialogue to address the challenges related to strengthening the development and management of the healthcare workforce in Kenya.

During this session, experts and stakeholders will engage in discussions about the current healthcare workforce challenges and their impact on service delivery.

This event will serve as a critical platform to tackle the pressing issues faced by Kenya’s healthcare workforce and identify actionable solutions.

The Pre-National Dialogue will be succeeded by a National Dialogue on Health Workforce Production and Management, to be led by the Deputy President on October 18, 2023, in Kericho County.

4. Kenya-UK strategic partnership

The Principal Secretary of the State Department for Foreign Affairs, Korir Singoei, and the British High Commissioner to Kenya, H.E. Neil Wigan, are set to address a joint press briefing on the Kenya-UK strategic partnership at the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Headquarters on October 11, 2023, at 2:30 p.m.

This collaborative relationship between Kenya and the United Kingdom, spanning trade, security, education, and development, will provide insights into the latest developments and future initiatives to further strengthen this strategic alliance.
