Nyali MP Mohammed Ali suspends all political engagements for 3 months after undergoing knee surgery
Nyali Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Mohammed Ali has announced the suspension of all his political engagements and activities for a period of three months.
This is after he underwent a knee surgery following an injury he sustained during the 14th edition East African Community (EAC) Interparliamentary games that were hosted in Mombasa from December 8 to December 18, 2024.
Taking to his official X account on Friday, December 27, 2024, Ali who is famously known as Moha Jicho Pevu, revealed that he had undergone a successful knee surgery with his doctor recommending that his mobility would be limited for at least three months to allow for full recovery.
He, however, assured his constituents that his office operations will run as usual.
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) lawmaker has also urged Kenyans to keep him in prayers as he recuperates, and promised to bounce back even stronger.
“Following the knee injury I sustained during the EAC- Inter Parliamentary Games in Mombasa, I am pleased to share that I have had a successful knee surgery. I am however informed by my doctor that my mobility will be limited for atleast 3 months to allow for full recovery.
“I will therefore be suspending all political engagements and activities during this period but wish to assure all Nyali Constituents that office operations will run as usual. Please keep me in your prayers as I recuperate and I hope to bounce back even stronger. Mungu wa kwetu sote,” Ali stated.

Ali represented the Kenyan parliament in football during the event that brought together over 1,000 representatives from the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) and national parliaments of EAC partner states, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, and Burundi.
The lawmaker was part of the team that played in the curtain-raiser match against EALA and the County Assembly of Mombasa at the newly renovated KPA Mbaraki Stadium.
“Honored to have been part of the historic 14th EAC Interparliamentary Games, officially inaugurated by our esteemed President, Dr. William Samoei Ruto. It was an exhilarating experience to represent the Mixed EAC Legislatures team in the Curtain-Raiser match against EALA and the County Assembly of Mombasa at the newly Renovated KPA Mbaraki Stadium. We managed to nick the win on Penalties (3 – 2) after a 1 – 1 draw.
“It is not the Will to Win that Matters, Everyone has that. It is the Will to Prepare to Win that Matters. I can confirm that Team Kenya is more than Ready! Beyond the Thrill of Sports, these Games promote Regional Integration, Cultural exchange and Diplomatic relations. This is in line with this year’s Theme “EAC @25, enhancing integration through Inter-Parliamentary Games.” Quite unfortunate that I am technically out of the Competition for TWO WEEKS due to an injury I sustained in Today’s Match. However, I will be cheering on the sidelines and I wish #TeamKenya all the Best,” Ali stated after the curtain-raiser match.
