Here is what you need to know in order to get up to speed with today’s happenings.
1. DP Gachagua to preside over launch of pharmaceutical firm
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is today expected to preside over the official opening of Questa Care Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company.
The event will be held at Questa Care Ltd offices along Homa Bay Road, off Enterprise Road in Industrial Area, Nairobi County.
During the event, the country’s second in command is expected to comment on issues of national interest including the Kenya Kwanza government’s policy interventions on healthcare.
2. Government Spokesperson’s address
Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura will on Wednesday give an update on the ongoing National and County Level Tree Planting and Growing campaign.
The address comes two days after the country marked a ‘Green Holiday’ that saw President William Ruto his deputy Gachagua and members of Cabinet lead the nation in a tree-planting exercise across the country.
The exercise was part of the government’s ambitious goal of planting 15 billion trees by 2032.
During today’s press conference at Harambee House, Mwaura is also expected to address issues touching on foreign travel and the cost of living.
3. National TVET Conference
The State Department for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), with support from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) has planned a 3-day conference themed “Enhancing Industry-Driven Skills Development for Youth Employability”.
The conference, which kicks off today, brings together stakeholders from the public and private sectors, TVET institutions, industry, business membership organizations, policymakers and development partners to discuss and explore the role of industry in skills development.
Some of the guests expected at the opening plenary include Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, Finland’s Ambassador to Kenya Pirrka Tapiolla and German Deputy Ambassador Alexander Fierley.
4. MESHA meeting on Pediatric HIV
The Media for Environment, Science, Health and Agriculture (MESHA) will on Wednesday morning host a breakfast meeting with the media to provide an update on Ending Pediatric HIV.
The conference is aimed at addressing the management of paediatric HIV and advancing shared goals of a healthier and safer future for Kenya’s children and adolescents.
The event will be held at Ngong Hills Hotel in Nairobi from 9:00 am.
