Nothing will stop me from being the next President, says Ruto

Deputy President William Ruto has told off his critics saying nothing will stop him from being the President come 2022.

Speaking on Saturday during his Meru tour accompanied by more than 15 Members of Parliament allied to the Hustlers team, DP Ruto warned his opponents to prepare for a early defeat in the next polls.

The Deputy President and his allies accused the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga of “selfish and greed by hiding behind the Handshake and Building Bridges Initiative (BBI)to gain power through backdoor”.

The DP while addressing residents in Maua town and Tigania West further accused a section of political lords of deploying intimidation mechanisms to block him from advancing his Hustlers agenda.

“This time, we are giving them a early notice that we are not afraid of deep state and systems because we are the system ourselves. I wonder which system my friend Raila is talking about when he never formed any government. If he thinks he will gain power through ‘system’ we are telling him to forget because Kenyans are not foolish since we struggled to form this government,”said Ruto.

He at the same said it was unfortunate that the BBI has misplaced the priorities of Big Four Agenda which is aimed at creating jobs and narrow the gap between the poor and the rich .

“The Jubilee government should focus on the Big Four Agenda which is out to create 4 million jobs and not BBI which only concentrate on creating only three jobs for people already with jobs,” added Ruto

“I am the Deputy President of Kenya and we are the government ourselves…let them bring it over. We will crush it. Nobody can force us to talk about power sharing and tribalism through the BBI when the common man is suffering and continue to languish in poverty,” added Ruto.

While wooing the region to back his Presidency bid in 2022, Ruto said Kenya needs a visionary leader who is ready to address social -economical problems affecting the common man from the grassroot .

“No amount of force will derail me from working for Kenyans and helping the common man who is suffering in the village. This is the Hustlers Nation main agenda. We are telling those trying to gain power through the backdoor to forget. I am not afraid of being victimized. Let them stop and block my meetings but they will not stop Kenyans from voting for me as the next President,” he added.

Accompanied by Senator Mithika Linturi ( Meru) MPs Didmus Baraza(Kimilili),Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), Aisha Jumwa (Malindi), Moses Kuria (Gatundu South),Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu),Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira),Cecily Mbarire (nominated), Rahim Dawood( Imenti North) Mugambi Rindikiri (Buuri), John Paul Mwirigi (Igembe South),Josphat Kabeabea (Tigania East). Also present were Women Reps Rehema Jaldesa (Isiolo) and her Tharaka Nithi counterpart Beatrice Nkatha.

The TangaTanga allies at the same urged the locals to reject the BBI initiative saying it only out to advance the political agenda of the few individuals .

“We beg you not to make a mistake to support BBI because it just a document to for power sharing but not to advance the interest of common man,” added Mrs Jumwa.

Linturi and Kuria assured locals that Mt.Kenya will back the DP Presidential bid and overwhelmingly vote for him in the 2022 General Election.

“Those who are saying Mt.Kenya East is not behind Ruto are misleading. We are are not ready to be pushed on which direction to take politically and we are sure President Uhuru Kenyatta will not endorse Raila who is older than him,” added Kuria
