Narok County Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu is in consultation with two top Indian doctors on how to fix challenges dogging the health sector in the county.

According to the governor, the health consultants will provide counsel on how to ensure the proper functioning of all public healthcare facilities that will benefit Narok residents.

The two, Dr Sanjeev Bagai, the President India Child Health Association, and Dr. Rajeah Luthra a healthcare specialist from New Delhi joined the governor on Friday, September 30 in a visit to all the health facilities in the county in an exercise that will take two days.

“These two gentlemen here are on a tour of our health facilities in our effort to continue seeking partnership in our key projects to help improve our communities’ access to quality healthcare,” the governor said.

The tour of all county health facilities is in line with what Governor Ntutu promised during his inauguration last month.

“The team from India are my longtime friends, and when they heard that I was elected governor they came here so that we can deliberate on the status of our county healthcare system and how we can fix it and make it work,” Ntutu said.

Dr Luthra said they joined the governor and would help the health sector to be profitable by making sure that the hospitals in the county operate efficiently.

The same sentiments were echoed by Dr Bagai who assured governor Ntutu that they will work with the county to improve the health sector by ensuring the hospitals run efficiently and effectively.

Addressing the press at the Narok Referral Hospital, Ntutu said his administration will prioritize digitization of health records and adequate staffing and has already hired 169 additional medical personnel.

“I have inspected the ongoing construction of Narok County Referral Hospital and Narok Medical Training College and we are confident it’s nearing its completion and plans are underway to avail necessary resources to make the projects operational,” the governor stated.
