Narc-K blasts Kenya Kwanza over failed campaign pledges

National Rainbow Coalition (NARC)-Kenya party has taken a swipe at the Kenya Kwanza government over what they termed as failing to fulfil promises they made during campaigns.

Top party officials who spoke yesterday said despite President William Ruto promising to make life easier, Kenyans are reeling from the economic hardships.

“The Finance Act has made life for Kenyan people miserable, causing the cost of living to rise significantly and limiting day-to-day activities due to the increased expenditure on petrol and diesel,” said the party’s Deputy Secretary General Asha Bashir.

Bashir noted the alarming rise in corruption and embezzlement of funds since the current government came into power.

“One can easily see what happened in the Finance Act, you can’t pass a law that touches the constitution because anything that touches the constitution from a legal perspective is null and void. You can see how it was pushed down our throats and it came to see the light of the day,” she said.

She raised concerns about the consequences of youth unemployment, including higher crime rates and mental health issues.
