Nairobi County Assembly will from next week commence the vetting of Governor Johnson Sakaja nominees for county executive committees posts.

 Clerk of the County Assembly of Nairobi Edward Gichana (pictured) through a notice said that the 10 cabinet nominees will face the Appointment Committee for vetting and the exercise is expected to take three days. 

“Section 7 of the Public Appointments (County Assemblies Approvals), Act, 2017 requires the committee to determine and notify the nominees and the general public of the time and place of the approval hearings,” reads the notice.

 Charles Kerich (Finance and Economic Planning) will be the first nominee to be vetted on November 14, 2022, followed by  Michael Gumo (Innovation and Digital) and Brian Mulama ( Talents, Skills, Development and Care). CEC nominee for Mobility and Works Patrick Mbogo will face the panel in the afternoon. On Tuesday it will be the turn of Ibrahim Auma (Boroughs Administration and Personnel), Stephen Mwangi (Buildings and Urban Planning) and Rosemary Kariuki (Hustlers and Business Opportunities).  Once vetted, the committee will recommend to the House for the CECs approval or rejection.
