Nairobi MCAs approve Sh38.3 billion budget

Nairobi County Assembly has approved the 38.33 billion budget for the 2022-23 financial year.

In the budget, the office of the governor and the deputy governor are the biggest losers after their votes were revised downwards.

The office of governor and deputy governor will receive Sh3.84 billion down from Sh5 billion in the last Budget.

MCAs allocated the Public Service Management and Public Service Board Sh1.92 billion and Sh146.1 million respectively.

The ward Development fund also got a slight increase from Sh76 million in the previous financial circle to Sh79 million this year.

Education and Youth Affairs, Sports Culture and Social Services received Sh1.9 billion, Sh100 million more than last year.

The County Health department will receive Sh102.8 million, ICT and e-government Sh183 million and Public Works Transport and Infrastructure has been allocated Sh58.7 billion.
