Na nyinyi munachukiana – Jubilee’s Kanini Kega cautions Kenyans against hate after meeting Ruto’s pointman
Kieni Member of Parliarment Kanini Kega has sent a strong message on unity and peaceful coexistance to Kenyans ahead of the 2022 polls.
Through a Facebook post Kega shared on Saturday, July 31, the MP who was pictured with UDA allied MP Caleb Kositany, cautioned his followers against hating other Kenyans opposed to the rulling Jubilee party.
"Enjoying a round of golf with my colleague and friend Hon Caleb Kositany na nyinyi wafuasi wetu munachukiana! Haiya. Mimi niko Jubilee na Caleb UDA and we are still good friends," Kega wrote.
The Facebook post by Kega comes after Jubilee and UDA faced out in the recently concluded by-elections in Kimbaa constituency and Muguga ward which saw the two parties disagree with the results posted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). 
In Kiambaa constituency, UDA's John Njuguna Wanjiru beat Jubilee's Kariri Njama after he garnered 21,773 votes.
Jubilee later dismissed the results claiming that IEBC did not work well on the tallying process.
“We wish to categorically state that we are dissatisfied with how the IEBC managed the by-election, particularly the tallying process. We demand a recount of the vote and will in the coming days pursue this,” a statement by the Jubilee NMC stated.
However, IEBC asked the two political outfits to seek legal redress instead of tainting the image of the electoral body.
In a press statement released in the evening of Thursday, July 22 IEBC said it successfully conducted the by elections on July 15, 2021 and that it's attention had been drawn to a statement by a politician who said otherwise during a live TV interview.
"The attention of the commission has been drawn to remarks made by Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi, who while appearing on a local television programme, cast doubts on the authenticity of the Kiambaa by-election results alleging that some candidates got the same number of votes in different polling stations," IEBC said.
