Muthama speaks on his alleged intention to join Azimio
United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Chairman Johnson Muthama has denied claims that he is planning to ditch the Kenya Kwanza Alliance for Azimio la Umoja-Kenya.
Muthama termed the claims as baseless, adding that he is solidly behind UDA party leader William Ruto’s State House bid.
“I am still the chairman of UDA Kenya, the biggest and most vibrant political party in Kenya. That’s the inexorable truth,” Muthama said in a statement.
Muthama accused Azimio leaders of spreading propaganda.

“Kuzimia coalition is imprisoned in a gridlock of lies and keeps on blurring the lines between facts and fables expecting us in UDA Kenya to buy their delibilitating and fake narratives of defections until they eventually realise, I, Johnson Nduya Muthama, is going nowhere,” he wrote.
Muthama to campaign for Ruto
He said he was determined to ensure that Kenya Kwanza would form the next government.
“I have and will remain focused, faithful and true to UDA Kenya cause until we form the next government under Dr. William Ruto,” he said.

Muthama’s reaction comes a day after rumors circulated on social media that he was on his way out of the UDA.
His vice chairman Kipruto Kirwa quit the party on Sunday and joined Raila’s Azimio.
