Murkomen hits out at Gachagua over chaos witnessed in Narok rally
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has blasted the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua’s camp over the violent confrontations witnessed at his rally on Tuesday, November 24, 2025, in Narok County.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, Murkomen stated that the confrontations were due to the politician ingoring an explicit directive from law enforcement agencies against holding the rally
Advised against meeting
“The National Police realised that there would be a confrontation and advised the rally not to happen. It was for the benefit of people who were complaining. We has taken the necessary action to avert the violence and chaos witnessed,” he stated.
Murkomen reiterated the commitment of the security apparatus to ensure all Kenyans remain peaceful and safe.
He chided the DCP leader for crying foul of being a target of violence, stating he welcomes the blame occasioned by the police discharging their mandates rather than dealing with the death of a Kenyan.
“We are happy people are blaming us from the comfort of their house, peacefully and safely. It would be a different case if there were cases of death. We will continue taking preventive measures and ensure Kenyans are safe,” he stated.

His remarks come after Gachagua accused Police Inspector General Douglas Kanja of targeting him using uniformed officers, plainclothes personnel, and alleged militia forces during the political function.
Gachagua to Kanja
In a strongly worded letter on Tuesday, November 24, 2025, Gachagua accused senior police leadership of sanctioning and coordinating acts of brutality against its supporters.
“This is not the first time violence has been meted out on my supporters and me by state-sponsored militia and police. Kenyans are closely watching you,” Gachagua said on X on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
