Murang’a University student arrested for killing lover’s son

A third-year student at Murang’a University, Festus Wachira, is in police custody over the murder of a three-year old boy, Kingsley Ngigi.

According to sleuths, Wachira confessed to have committed the atrocious crime after a confrontation with the boy’s mother, with whom they were in a relationship.

“The suspect in our custody Festus Wachira led us to where he dumped the body,” said Murang’a County Police Commander Josephat Kinyua.

According to police reports, Wachira was in a relationship with the boy’s mother, Catherine Muthoni Ngigi.

Wachira forcefully took the boy from his mother on December 5, and hid him in his rented hostel at St. Mary’s Estate near Murang’a University.

On December 6, Wachira revelead to the police that he murdered the boy and disposed his body in a maize farm near Murang’a Prison.

Wachira will be arraigned in court on Monday.
