MP wants NCPB to open silos, buy maize from farmers

By , October 2, 2020

Kiminini MP Dr Chris Wamalwa has asked the National Cereals and Produce Board ( NCPB) to heed to President Uhuru kenyatta’s directive and open silos to buy maize from farmers in the region.

He said farmers had endured enough pain with most of them failing to service their loans leading to creditors threatening to auction their property.

Speaking in Naisambu village in the Hospital Ward in Kiminini during the burial ceremony of Herman Nyongesa Simiyu who was until his demise working at the county of Trans Nzoia,  Dr. Wamalwa asked Kenyans to be resilient and kind.

On the Chief Justice David Maraga’s advisory to the President to dissolve Parliament,  he absolved parliament from the failure to pass the two thirds gender rule and added that there was no cause for alarm.

“For the past two weeks the debate on whether the bicameral parliament should be dissolved has been the talk of every Kenyan. Parliament cannot be blamed for the impasse as there are well spelt out mechanism to address the matter,” he said.

The MP who is in the race to succeed Trans Nzoia governor Patrick Khaemba asked the residents to reject politics of hate and slander and instead co-exist among themselves peaceful.
