MP Kega’s assistant in assault saga set free on Sh100,000 bail

The personal assistant to Kieni MP Kanini Kega has been released on a Sh100,000 cash bail by a Nyeri court after spending five nights in custody.

Dickson Ndirangu Mwangi was accused of assaulting and causing grievous bodily harm to Jeremiah Gichuhi on June 30.

The accused was on July 8 presented before the Nyeri Principal Magistrate James Macharia to answer the charges and he entered a not guilty plea before he was remanded at the King’ong’o Maximum Prison.

The case will be mentioned on August 3. In the same court, a 16-year-old boy accused of assault appeared before Principal Magistrate Mathias Okuche.

The Form One student is accused of assaulting his alleged 16-year-old girlfriend.
