Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has urged Kenyans to keep reminding the government of their power as citizens.

In a statement, the MP insinuated that the citizens had lost hope in the current administration and that President William Ruto would soon find himself addressing his deputy Rigathi Gachagua and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro alone in the streets.

The lawmaker also announced that the opposition will hold a competition for a Ruto rally with the smallest crowd.

"Very soon #ruto will be addressing #gachagua and @NdindiNyoro alone on the streets . Kenyans don't get tired of reminding the Uda government that the sovereign power belongs to you and that you can take it away anytime . We are going to hold a competition for a ruto rally that will have the smallest crowd. Next destination, kazi kwenu," the MP wrote.

The MP was responding to a clip of Ruto addressing a small unbothered crowd that stood without engaging the president in his talks.

The president who was speaking in Nyahururu was affirming his commitment to ensure that his affordable housing projects come to fruition.

While stressing that the project had created jobs for the Kenyan youth, the president noted that he would not allow anyone to jeopardize his housing agenda.

"Ati kuna mtu anataka kusimamisha mpango ya housing tayari nikiongea na nyinyi vijana elfu moja ishirini wanafanya kazi katika programme ya housing na kila mahali.. mnataka nisimamishe kazi ya hao watu sasa mimi nitawapeleka wapi? Mnasema iendelee ama isimamishwe?" Ruto posed to which the crowd responded with silence.
