Moses Kuria decries selective treatment of small parties from Mt Kenya by Ruto’s UDA party
Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has on Sunday September 26, 2021 decried what he terms as selective treatment of smaller parties from Mt Kenya by Ruto’s UDA party.
Kuria took issue with the sentiments of Ruto’s ardent supporter, Garissa Town MP Aden Duale, during a past interview with a local daily. The lawmaker claims that Duale viciously attacked him and ex-Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri for their insistence on supporting Ruto’s bid through their own political outfits.
The two leaders have remained adamant, despite pressure from their hustler nation counterparts, that they will not fold their political outfits in favour of Ruto’s UDA party.
The vocal politician accused Duale of double standards when it came to smaller parties from the Central Kenya region.
He says that just like him, who is out to champion for the rights of Mt Kenya residents, the former National Assembly Majority Leader patronizes the Pastoralists MPs forum that pushes for the rights of pastoralist communities.
Kuria further highlighted Duale’s silence after Migori governor Okoth Obado, who leads the PDP party, publicly proclaimed in the presence of DP Ruto that he will not fold his party to join UDA.
“Migori governor Okoth Obado held public meetings in his county with the Deputy President William Ruto and declared that his PDP Party will form an alliance with UDA. Duale will not see that. All evil comes from Mt Kenya led parties. Very sad. I am fearful,” he posed.
Kuria opines that Duale also lacks the morals standards of attacking him yet he failed to stage a fight against Jubilee in two by-elections in Wajir and Garissa. He further accused UDA of condoning the Garissa MP despite him giving their by-election wars against Jubilee in Juja, Kiambaa and Rurii a wide berth.
“I did not see him (Duale) anywhere on the ground as we battled Jubilee in Juja, Kiambaa, Rurii etc. Yet he now claims that what we are interested in are positions- Despite my public statement that I am not interested in any position,” he added.
Kuria opined that the country was heading to doom should Duale and his ilk ascend to power in 2022.
